Our Solventless Extracts Team, supported by the careful work of our Cultivation and Harvest Teams, works tirelessly and enthusiastically to stay on the leading edge of this complex world, hunting new genetics, creating enticing pairings, and pushing this niche of cannabis consumption forward.
Our first release of Live Hash Rosin came in the most well-known consistency, referred to as “cold cure” hash rosin. In this form, ice water extract is pressed into hash rosin, cured, and mixed into a homogenous product. Next, our team introduced the “jam” iteration, in which tiny micro-crystals of THCa are suspended in a terpene-rich layer. Finally, with our ongoing foray into thumbprints, we’ve been creating exciting flavor combinations, pairing two strains together in one package – a cold cure ring with a jam or cold cure center. Our exploration into the exciting possibilities of solventless extracts continues, as we introduce our first ever release of Fresh Press Live Hash Rosin!
What is Fresh Press Live Hash Rosin?
Fresh Press Live Hash Rosin is packaged immediately after pressing – before it has time to cure or change consistency. The finished product presents a pinesap-like consistency with a glossy appearance, and with certain resin, the terpenes may be more accentuated in this form, effectively capturing the aromatic profile of the live plant. Over time, if left at room temperature (and even in non-freezing cold temperatures), the fresh press rosin will begin to nucleate, or “butter up,” and, with a little mixing, will become the more familiar cold cure hash rosin consistency.
It is interesting to note that not all strains will perform well as fresh press. Stability is key and certain varieties adapt well to this product, while others “crash out” too quickly, becoming cold cure rosin in a matter of hours when stored as a small quantity, like a gram package. Even for strains conducive to fresh press, an airtight package and a cold environment (preferably the freezer) are critical to preserving its unique consistency.

For our very first release of Fresh Press Live Hash Rosin, we’re excited to offer the bright and transporting flavors of Wave Runners! In this form, the harmonious candied peach and papaya flavors burst from the rosin. We are very pleased with this selection for fresh press, as we’ve found Wave Runners’ vibrant profile to be more pronounced – a less altered representation of this strain’s live terpene profile. However, as mentioned previously, it is more volatile than its cold cure counterpart so proper storage is very important to the preservation of the fresh press experience!
