Breakwater is currently serving medical patients only. This means only participants in the New Jersey Medicinal Cannabis Program (NJMCP) can make purchases. But don’t worry! It’s easy to sign up. We’ve created this guide to help you understand the process.

FIND A DOCTOR & GET CERTIFIED
To qualify for an NJ medical marijuana card, you first need to locate a participating doctor to discuss your eligibility. There is an abundance of convenient providers, many of whom offer quick and easy online consultations. Consultation fees may vary, so be sure to ask your provider about their fee. If you qualify, your doctor will send you an Attending Health Care Practitioner’s Statement. This document recommends you for participation in the NJMCP and is required for your application with the State of New Jersey.
SUBMIT YOUR STATE APPLICATION
Use the NJMCP website to complete your medical cannabis application and submit your physician’s statement. The application fee is now only $10 to receive a physical NJMCP card! Those receiving state assistance may be eligible for a reduced fee.
If your application is approved, your NJMCP card will arrive by mail and is valid for 2 years. Additionally, any active NJMCP patient can elect a caregiver to make purchases on their behalf. This individual must also register on the state website and receive their caregiver card before making any purchases. Any existing NJMCP patient can visit our Cranbury or Roselle Park locations and make a purchase with no appointment required.
Check out our hours and our Daily Menu before you stop by, and always make sure you have a valid prescription before your visit! Please note that the dispensaries are available to NJMCP patients and registered caregivers only, visitors and assistants are not currently allowed in the dispensary.
Breakwater accepts cash and CanPay for all transactions. We have ATMs available for your convenience at both locations.

All first-time visitors get a 15% New Patient Discount on eligible items in their purchase. Eligible patients can also receive one of the following compassion discounts: Veteran, Senior, Minor, or Government Assistance. Compassion discounts are stackable up to 25% with our weekly promotions. Learn more about our discounts here.
